On January 13, 1931, the Society of Beaux-Arts Architects held a ball at the Hotel Astor in New York City where architects dressed up as buildings, some dressed as the buildings they famously designed. Although I wasn’t able to find a photo of him we know that William F. Lamb came as the Empire State Building. In the spirit of that event I dressed this golden retriever as the Empire State Building. His dress is made of a glitter georgette with an image I drew of the Empire State building heat transferred onto the front. His hat is cut from a 1/8” industrial white felt with the image heat transferred onto it. The face is hand sculpted, cast in resin and painted by hand. The body, the ears, the head back and paws are all felt, the eyes are holographic backed resin cabochons.
